Who We Are
Our names are Brandon and Laura Cook, and we are the owners of the Cook Farm. We operate on 26.5 acres of land in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. We raise dairy goats and laying hens. In addition to working on our farm, we operate another small business, providing lawn and caretaking services to the local area. Brandon utilizes his many years of mechanical experience as the Chief Engineer of the Owls Head-Mt. View Fire Department. Laura obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, where she studied Agribusiness with a focus in Farm & Ranch Management. Prior to living in New York, Laura worked in the commercial dairy industry. Her education and experience have proven to be a great asset to the business throughout its development.
Not too long after we started dating in 2017, we took a drive down to a livestock auction in Vermont, and came home with the 87 lb calf that started it all! Brandon and his father set to work building our barn, and we quickly filled it with critters of all shapes and sizes. Later that year, Brandon left his full-time job as an automotive mechanic to devote himself to growing our hobby into a profitable business. Our farm is still a work in progress, and we are very excited for all of the developments that 2020 will bring!
